PoCut FAQ — Free Web Photo Booth, Common Questions

Published 2026-09-21

Here are the questions people ask most before trying PoCut for the first time. If yours is not here, the fastest way to find out is to try it in the app — there is no sign-in, so it starts in three seconds anyway.

Frequently asked questions

Q. What is PoCut?
A free service that brings the Korean four-cut photo booth to the web. Your browser camera takes four photos in a row on a 3-second countdown, then you add filters and a frame and save instantly. No app to install.
Q. Is it really free? Is there a watermark?
Yes, everything is free and the result has no watermark. There is no payment step at all. The caption at the bottom of the frame (default: PoCut) can be changed or removed on the shooting screen.
Q. Do I need an account or sign-in?
No. You can start shooting as soon as the page loads, and we never ask for an account, email or phone number.
Q. Are my photos stored on a server?
No. PoCut is 100% client-side with no backend, so photos are never sent to or stored on a server. Photos and face-detection coordinates exist only in your browser memory and disappear when you close the tab.
Q. Which devices can I use it on?
Any device with a camera — phone, tablet or laptop — through the browser. There is no separate app or program to install.
Q. How is it different from an offline photo booth?
A booth charges per session and you have to go to the store; PoCut is free and works anywhere. It also makes shots that are hard in a booth, like posing with a pet or swapping props at home. The trade-off is that you get a high-resolution image file instead of a printed strip.
Q. What filters and frames are there?
11 filters (basic, mood and tone), 4 frame colors plus a custom color picker, and 3 layouts (2×2 grid, vertical strip, wide). Face-detection auto retouch also runs entirely on your device.
Q. How do I save my photos?
Three ways: high-resolution PNG download, copy to clipboard, or the system share sheet. Files are saved as pocut_<date-time>.png.
